Google says Discover AI source-tap failure was an experiment bug

Google confirmed that a broken source-tap in some Discover AI summaries was a bug in an experiment, not a permanent change to how Discover links to publishers. Engineer Rajan Patel said the experiment was turned off and the experience is "as intended again"; scope and affected users were not disclosed.
