PS5 update shows who is speaking in voice chat

The PS5 system software update 26.06-14.00.00 from September 16, 2026 added an on-screen indicator showing the name of each player speaking in party voice chat. It works on PS5 and PS5 Pro, is off by default, and its position can be adjusted.

• The indicator is enabled via Display Who's Speaking in the Voice Chat card
• Its position can be changed so it doesn't cover the mini-map or health bar
• It doesn't work with in-game voice chat
• A PS5 party can hold up to 16 players
