HomePod 27.2 hands-on: low-latency Mac speaker, Sound Glow

The 27.2 update lets the HomePod (2nd gen) and HomePod mini 2 act as low-latency wireless speakers for Macs with Wi-Fi 6E, excluding M1 machines. It also adds Sound Glow, Lock Controls and four-speaker home theater surround sound with Apple TV 4K.

• Low latency requires a Wi-Fi 6E Mac; M1 models are excluded
• Lock Controls disables the top touch surface on all HomePod generations
• Sound Glow drives 37 RGB LEDs (19 on mini) synced to album art
• Home theater uses two stereo pairs of HomePods with Apple TV 4K
