Embotech and BMW move 1M vehicles with automated driving tech

Embotech and BMW said their automated driving system has moved 1 million vehicles across four plants in Germany and the U.K. The Automated Driving In-Plant system handles about 3,500 vehicle movements a day with over 99.5% availability.

• 1 million movements at Dingolfing, Leipzig, Regensburg and Oxford plants
• About 3,500 movements per day at over 99.5% availability
• First 500,000 took 15 months, the next 500,000 just seven
• Hesai lidars sit in the infrastructure, so vehicles need no modifications
