XPeng shops its self-driving tech to automakers — Tesla found no takers

XPeng has created a commercialization team and is offering other automakers licenses to its electronics architecture, smart cockpit, Turing chips, ADAS and autonomous driving software. The template is its Volkswagen deal: $700 million for 4.99% in 2023, while XPeng's service revenue grew 93.9% year over year to about $400 million in Q2 2026. Tesla has tried for years to license FSD but has closed no deals.
