iPhone Duo screens crack in the same spot, hinge suspected

iPhone Duo owners report displays cracking within hours of use, with damage appearing in the same location every time. A teardown by Korean YouTuber CuriousHagi points to the complex geared hinge, where a link may snap and crack the screen when folded. Apple has not publicly acknowledged the issue and its scale is unclear.

• Reported cracks appear in the same area of the display across affected units
• CuriousHagi's teardown shows a geared hinge with several types of linking hinges
• Some users got replacements quickly; one was told it was their fault for lacking insurance
• Apple has not confirmed the issue and its prevalence remains unknown
