Blue Initiative launches dedicated maritime vulnerability database
A coalition of Cydome, Rakuten Maritime, Bureau Veritas, ClassNK and MTS-ISAC announced the Maritime Vulnerabilities Repository on October 26, billed as the first database listing only IT and OT flaws relevant to shipping. Entries are reviewed by researchers and published only once a patch exists.
- MVR lists only vulnerabilities relevant to vessels and ports
- Entries are validated by Cydome and partner researchers
- Flaws are published only after a patch is available
- Launch follows August cyber-attacks on tankers in the Gulf of Mexico
