Patch boosts PS4 Pro DDR3 memory in PS4linux from 10.6 to 504 MB/s
A developer found the PS4 Pro's 1 GB DDR3 chip was read by the CPU 8 bytes at a time through a narrow PCI window at 10.6 MB/s. After using AI to reverse-engineer Sony's closed sbram driver, he enabled the southbridge DMA engine: reads now hit 504 MB/s, writes 425 MB/s, with the engine peaking near 1.4 GB/s.
- DDR3 reads rose from 10.6 to 504 MB/s, writes from 138 to 425 MB/s
- Southbridge DMA engine peaks at about 1.4 GB/s on 65,408-byte jobs
- The driver binds the engine as PCI device 104d:90cd and uses a coherent buffer below 4 GB
- Orbis protocol: byte count, source, dest, 0x1d40 go register and 0x11 interrupt mask
