Google Launches Universal Commerce Protocol for Agentic Commerce
Google launched the open Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) for agentic commerce, developed with Shopify, Target, Walmart, Etsy and Wayfair. The protocol sets a common language for AI agents from product search to payment, while the companion AP2 creates a verifiable audit of transactions.
