OpenAI to retire GPT-4o and GPT-4.1 APIs on January 14, 2027

OpenAI has notified developers that five GPT-4o, GPT-4o mini, GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.1 mini snapshots will stop answering in the API on January 14, 2027. The recommended replacement is gpt-6-luna, but the notice gives 92 days instead of OpenAI's usual six months, and fine-tunes expire with their base models.
