AI cuts chip R&D cycles to nine months, says Etron chair

Etron chairman Nicky Lu said AI will accelerate chip development to one new product every nine months, while the semiconductor market is set to surpass US$1.6 trillion in 2026. AI tools are shortening design cycles and driving industry growth, he said.
