Apple Watch Series 12 Siri Recap listens all day, but Apple can't access the audio

Apple detailed Audio Intelligence in Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4: microphone audio is processed in the isolated Secure Exclave component of the S11 chip, and audio is not stored or accessible even to Apple. Siri Recap and Live Rewind require an iPhone 16 or newer with Secure Exclave.

• Siri Recap summarizes conversations, Live Rewind returns the last 15 seconds as text
• Audio goes to a continuously overwritten buffer in Secure Exclave and is deleted after transmission
• Transcription and text compression run on iPhone; only a brief summary goes to the cloud
• Summaries are deleted after 7 days; encryption keys are device-bound and updated
