Jagex cancels RuneScape: Reignited 10 days after announcement

Jagex has cancelled RuneScape: Reignited, announced on 5 October as a new entry point for new and returning players, following a strongly negative community reaction. Creative Director Ryan Philpott admitted the studio "missed the mark" and said attracting new players cannot come at the expense of existing ones. The Road to Restoration modernisation effort and the 2027 content plan will continue.
