Deep Fission plans 2,000 MW of underground nuclear reactors at former US munitions depot
Startup Deep Fission signed a binding supply deal with the Great Plains Development Authority to deliver up to 2,000 MW to a former munitions depot in Parsons, Kansas. Its Gravity reactors, standard low-enriched uranium units, sit in one-mile-deep water-filled boreholes where hydrostatic pressure and bedrock replace containment domes. Phase one targets 150 MW, with commercial operation planned by September 30, 2028.
