Fujitsu and partners automate parameter tuning for solar energetic particle simulations
Fujitsu, Nagoya University, JAMSTEC and NICT developed the first technology that automatically determines simulation parameters for solar energetic particle (SEP) arrival using observations from five spacecraft, including BepiColombo. The SEITEN system uses black-box optimisation to set 19 parameters, coupling the SUSANOO MHD model with the SEPIF particle transport model; results were published in Scientific Reports.
