EA outlines 'next chapter' after BioWare closure: fewer projects, focus on shooters and sports

Electronic Arts laid out its 'next chapter' plan: fewer projects with fewer people, centered on Battlefield, Apex Legends, EA Sports FC and a Fight Night revival. The Sims' Project Lotus is paused, the Skate team is being cut, and BioWare's Mass Effect development ends as the studio and Edmonton office close.

• BioWare is closing and Mass Effect development has stopped
• Project Lotus, tied to The Sims 5, is paused
• Respawn and DICE will collaborate on a future project
• A new American football game, Project Gridiron, and Fight Night are planned
