Indies and original IP surged in 2026

Sensor Tower data shows 76 PC and console games sold over 500,000 units in their first month in 2026, up from 55 a year earlier, with units rising 51% from 120.5 million to 182.4 million. Indies grew from 24% to 43% of those hits, and new series from 38% to 53%.
