Dell Pro Precision 9 T2 review: Xeon 6 brings four DDR5-6400 channels
Dell has revived the Precision brand: the single-GPU Pro Precision 9 T2 tower swaps the Core Ultra 9 285K for a 24-core Xeon 658X in the same 32-liter chassis. The tested configuration with 128GB DDR5-6400 ECC, an RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Max-Q and two E3.S Gen5 drives lists at about $28,300. The Xeon wins on multi-threaded throughput and memory bandwidth but trails the Core chip in single-thread speed.
- Cinebench 2026 multi-core: 12,322 on Xeon vs 8,856 on Core Ultra 9 285K
- STREAM Triad: 122,233MB/s vs 33,003MB/s from four DDR5-6400 channels
- Single-core Cinebench: 454.1 on Xeon vs 564.4 on the 285K
- The 600W card adds 7–20% on LLM decode and 20–39% on prompt processing
