41 of 55 AI companion apps verify age only with a birthday field

A review of 55 AI companion apps found that 41 rely on nothing more than a typed date of birth or a checkbox, and five describe no age check at all. Only nine use stronger verification such as selfies, ID or third-party services, and for most of them it switches on only in certain countries.
