SteelSeries Aeon Pro review: a $259 premium third-party controller

The SteelSeries Aeon Pro ($259) offers drift-free Hall-effect sticks, two-stage triggers, an OLED display and a swappable battery with a charging dock. Its main flaw is severe input lag in PC mode on Windows 10, which SteelSeries says it is fixing.

• Priced at $259 versus $65 for a standard Xbox controller and $167 for Elite Series 2
• Swappable rechargeable battery and dock, same system as the Arctis Nova Elite headset
• OLED display for settings and quick switching between Xbox, PC and Bluetooth
• Noticeable input lag in PC mode on Windows 10; Bluetooth or wired avoids it
