RaonSecure extends digital identity to robots and AI systems
South Korea's RaonSecure is leading a government-backed project to extend its decentralized identity (DID) technology to robots and autonomous AI systems. The framework will manage identities, permissions, delegated authority and activity logs for machines, blocking commands that exceed authorized rights. Trials will start in smart factories before moving to logistics, healthcare and defense.
- RaonSecure leads the project backed by South Korea's MSIT and NIPA
- Its DID tech is used in the country's national mobile ID framework
- The system blocks commands beyond a robot's or AI agent's permissions
- Partners include SSenStone, Tilon, Desilo, ITStation and two universities
