T-Mobile, Ericsson test AI beamforming on 5G-Advanced

T-Mobile US is trialling AI-managed beamforming on live commercial 5G-Advanced traffic with Ericsson. At newly activated New York City sites during peak hours, downlink throughput improved 16%, spectral efficiency 12% and full-band SRS beamforming use rose about 50%.
