Apple details Safari cross-site tracking blocks in iOS 27
Apple's WebKit blog post explains how Safari in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 and visionOS 27 blocks domain-level connections to identity resolution firms, stopping email addresses from reaching third parties that build cross-site profiles. iCloud+ subscribers also get Hide My Email with unique addresses per site.
- Blocks operate at the domain level and can't be bypassed by changing request format
- Cross-site cookies have been blocked in Safari for six years
- One ad agency was blocked entirely and has complained to Apple
- Hide My Email in iCloud+ generates a unique address for each site
