Thailand first to launch Microsoft's 19-country AI jobs initiative

Microsoft and Thailand's government launched Microsoft Elevate AI and Jobs for Thailand on October 15, the first national coalition in a model spanning 19 countries. The roughly nine-month first phase, from October 2026 to June 2027, ties AI training and credentials to employer demand.

• Program targets vocational students, graduates, job seekers and career changers
• Credentials will align with the EU's DigComp 2.2 digital competence framework
• Microsoft says past digital and AI training reached 2.7 million people in Thailand
• Microsoft has not named the other 18 participating countries
