Garmin's 'OK Garmin' wake word cuts watch battery life by up to 40%

After Garmin's September update, the 'OK Garmin' voice wake word is enabled automatically on Venu 4, Forerunner 970 and other watches. Always listening for the phrase has cut estimated battery life from 15 to 9 days, 12 to 6 and 23 to 12 in user reports. The feature can be turned off under Watch Settings > System > Voice.

• The 'OK Garmin' wake word is switched on automatically by the update
• Battery estimates dropped from 15 to 9 days, a 40% reduction
• Disabling the feature restored the previous estimate for some users
• Turn it off via Watch Settings > System > Voice
