Mecka AI acquires Thirdspace team to boost first-person video capture

Toronto- and New York-based Mecka AI has acquired Ottawa social app Thirdspace, its second deal, shortly after closing a $60 million USD Series B backed by Sequoia, Nvidia, Microsoft, Qualcomm and Samsung. Thirdspace founders Cedric Osagie and Eshan Betrabet joined Mecka to lead mobile capture as the startup targets 100 million hours of egocentric video by the end of 2027.
