iPhone 18 Pro Max review: A20 Pro, variable aperture and iOS 27

Lowyat reviewed the iPhone 18 Pro Max, which keeps the familiar design but adds the A20 Pro chip, a 48MP main camera with variable aperture from f/1.48 to f/4.0, and iOS 27 with a revamped Siri. The smaller Dynamic Island frees room for Live Activities, and streaming video lasted about 24 hours in testing.

• 48MP 1/1.28-inch main camera adds variable aperture with four presets: f/1.48, f/1.8, f/2.8 and f/4.0
• A20 Pro holds a steady 60 fps in Warframe and Arknights: Endfield at max settings
• Apple claims up to 43 hours of video playback; the test ran about 24 hours of streaming at max brightness
• Dynamic Island is smaller after Face ID moved under the display; iOS 27 lets users adjust Liquid Glass tint
