Alibaba to move all Taobao and Tmall merchant operations onto Qwen Work by end of 2027

Alibaba will require every Taobao and Tmall merchant to run inventory, advertising, customer service and pricing through its Qwen Work enterprise AI platform by the end of 2027. Tmall president Liu Bo confirmed the rollout at the October 15 Singles' Day briefing, with an e-commerce-specific version in testing since October 14. Merchant data falls under China's National Intelligence Law, which obliges Alibaba to cooperate with state intelligence requests.
