Mercedes-Benz and Volvo to build next driving systems on Nvidia

Mercedes-Benz will develop its next-generation driver assistance and automated driving systems on Nvidia's stack, combining the Hyperion computer, Alpamayo driving software and Halos safety system. Volvo expanded its own Nvidia partnership a day earlier. Both target future SAE Level 4 applications, including robotaxis.

• Mercedes will use Hyperion, Alpamayo and Halos for SAE Level 4 driving
• Urban point-to-point assistance is due in selected German cities by end of 2026
• Volvo expanded its Nvidia deal for door-to-door automated driving
• Neither carmaker gave launch dates or named the first models
