CAIS launches wage loss dashboard: 117,000 AI-linked job cuts, $8.5B in lost wages

The Center for AI Safety released a Wage Loss Dashboard tracking layoffs companies attribute to AI. Since January 2026, the US has seen over 117,000 such cuts, with estimated annual wage losses of $8.5 billion, or about $25 per person on average.
