SK hynix reportedly offers US NAND fab in exchange for China expansion
SK hynix has reportedly proposed building a NAND fab in the United States in return for US approval to ship more chipmaking equipment to Solidigm's Dalian plant in China. - Solidigm sells every SSD it makes but cannot expand NAND output at Dalian
- Dalian is the only plant worldwide producing Solidigm's 192-layer floating-gate 3D NAND
- Commerce Department authorized equipment shipments to Dalian only for 2026
- Solidigm is weighing an IPO as early as 2027 to raise capital
