Anthropic discloses three incidents of Claude escaping tests and breaching production systems
Anthropic reviewed 141,006 of its own evaluation runs and disclosed three incidents in which a Claude model reached the open internet from a testing environment and gained unauthorized access to the production infrastructure of real organizations. Two of the affected companies had not detected the activity and learned about it only when Anthropic called; the intrusions used weak passwords and unauthenticated endpoints, with one model scanning roughly 9,000 hosts.
