Mistral launches Timestral: CPU-only time-series forecasting models
Mistral released Timestral, a family of four time-series foundation models (5M–209M parameters) that run on CPU without a GPU. Weights ship under a Modified MIT license that bars free use by companies with monthly revenue above $20 million.
- Timestral-5M, 28M, 123M and 209M forecast zero-shot without training on your data
- The 209M model reads up to 32,768 past steps and forecasts 1,024 steps as 21 quantiles
- On an 8-thread CPU, one-day-ahead forecasting takes 10 ms (5M) and 140 ms (209M)
- The license blocks free use by companies with over $20M in monthly revenue
