HackerRank launches Chakra, an AI agent that conducts job interviews
HackerRank has made Chakra generally available — an AI interviewer that runs the interview itself: candidates solve a task in a real code repository with an integrated AI assistant, answer follow-ups and receive a scored report. During a six-month beta it ran more than 500,000 interviews with companies including Snowflake, Snorkel and Capgemini. The final hiring decision stays human.
- Chakra went generally available on October 5, 2026, after a six-month beta
- The beta ran over 500,000 interviews with Snowflake, Snorkel and Capgemini
- Interview setup takes under 15 minutes and candidates get a link with no scheduling
- Suspicious-activity flags fell 70–80% when AI use was permitted openly
