Maya 2: free open-weight voice AI model for 22 Indian languages

Maya Research unveiled Maya 2, an open-weight voice AI model for Indian languages with 75 ms time to first byte and a 24 kHz PCM stream. Maya 2 Native ranks first for real-time Hindi on Voice Arena with an Elo of 1086, while Maya 2 Global ranks third for real-time English at 1024. The company plans to release the weights for free after a $1.9M seed round.
