India's NCPCR summons Google over AI 'kiss and hug' apps rated for ages 3+

India's National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has summoned Google over AI 'kiss and hug' apps on the Play Store that generate intimate videos from photos of real people without verifying consent. Some apps carry age ratings of 3+, and several have over a million downloads. The NCPCR plans to issue child safety guidelines for social media, gaming and AI platforms by December.
