Samsung's expedited wafer request for Galaxy Z Fold8 rejected by UMC

Samsung Electronics asked United Microelectronics Corporation to expedite wafer production for the Galaxy Z Fold8 after stronger-than-expected demand, but UMC declined the request. GlobalFoundries is being eyed as a backup foundry for display driver ICs (DDI).
