Redwood Materials gives used Rivian EV batteries a second life powering factories and data centers
Redwood Materials is working with Rivian to install second-life battery storage systems at manufacturing facilities. Rivian already runs a 10 MWh second-life battery system at its plant in Normal, Illinois, which Redwood calls the first of its kind at a US automaker's factory. Redwood also builds its own DC-DC converters and control software to combine packs with different chemistries and ages.
