Anthropic strengthens election safeguards ahead of 2026 US midterms

Anthropic analyzed 250,000 Claude.ai conversations: politics accounted for 5.75% of chats, elections 0.51%, and requests for voting advice about 0.01%. In October Claude will start surfacing official voting information from Democracy Works and live election results, with an updated usage policy taking effect November 12, 2026.
