Hassabis at Dublin Summit: AI Will Help Tackle the Climate Question
Google DeepMind chief Demis Hassabis told the International AI Summit in Dublin that AI will deliver the technology to tackle climate change, citing climate and weather modeling, fusion plasma containment, superconductors, better batteries and solar materials. He did not mention AGI once, though in May he called it the "foothills of the singularity."
