Sonos Beam Ultra: real height channels for $699, but one HDMI and no DTS:X

Sonos launched the Beam Ultra soundbar at $699 (on sale since September 29), adding genuine height channels for the first time with nine drivers and nine class-D amps, including two up-firing tweeters. The old limits remain: a single HDMI eARC port with no inputs and no DTS:X support.

• Priced at $699, $200 more than the Beam Gen 2 at $499
• Nine drivers and nine class-D amps, including two up-firing tweeters
• Marketed as a 7.1.2 bar, but no subwoofer or rear speakers included
• Single HDMI eARC port, no HDMI inputs; DTS:X still unsupported
