New Siri Remote adds Precision Finding, but iPhone 15 and 16 are left out

Apple's fourth-generation Siri Remote, launched alongside the $299 Apple TV 4K, adds Precision Finding via Find My and a built-in speaker for locating the remote. Precision Finding requires an iPhone Duo, iPhone Air, or iPhone 17 or later (excluding iPhone 17e), so the iPhone 15 lineup and most iPhone 16 models are excluded despite having second-generation Ultra Wideband chips. Preorders for the Apple TV 4K open October 13, with availability starting November 13.
