Physical Intelligence opens Pi API beta for robot foundation models

Physical Intelligence launched the beta of its Pi API on October 13, 2026, letting outside developers fine-tune and run its robotic foundation models on the company's hosted infrastructure. Access is via a waitlist, with inference served through a hosted gateway.

• Pi API offers hosted fine-tuning and inference for π0 and π0.5 models
• Beta access is granted through a waitlist with project descriptions
• Open versions of the models are published in the openpi repo under Apache-2.0
• Local inference needs an Nvidia GPU with more than 8 GB of memory
