Volkswagen confirms next-gen ID. Buzz on SSP platform

Volkswagen has confirmed it is working on a next-generation ID. Buzz electric minibus. The model will move to the SSP platform, become more affordable and offer longer range, faster charging and possibly LFP batteries. No launch date was given.

• VW brand CEO Thomas Schäfer admitted the ID. Buzz is "in the wrong cost base"
• The next generation will use the SSP platform and possibly LFP batteries
• The first SSP-based EVs are now expected "by the end of the decade"
• US ID. Buzz sales fell 82.5% in Q3 to just 432 units
