Axera unveils AX8860 AI chip: 256 TOPS, 128 GB LPDDR5X, 40W

Chinese company Axera announced the AX8860, a 6nm AI chip with a 16-core Arm Cortex-A55 CPU, an NPU rated at up to 256 TOPS (FP4) and up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X at 273 GB/s. It claims 25-30% faster LLM performance than Nvidia's DGX Spark at roughly half the price, with a four-chip card exceeding 1000 TOPS.
