Scan of 1,902 local-business sites: one in four already has llms.txt

A developer scanned 1,902 US and UK local-business websites for AI readiness, scoring 1,355 of them. Some 24.9% serve an llms.txt file, but only 0.7% block AI crawlers in robots.txt and 45.8% have no structured business data.

• 338 of 1,355 sites (24.9%) serve llms.txt, mostly on Wix (97.5%) and Shopify (96.4%)
• Only 9 sites (0.7%) block AI answer crawlers in robots.txt, 14 (1.0%) block training crawlers
• 621 sites (45.8%) lack structured business data and 71.6% have no FAQ content
• Median readiness score is 58.1 out of 100; 328 of 1,902 sites no longer work
