A week with new Googlebooks: Android integration is rough but promising

Hands-on with the Asus Googlebook 14 and Dell XPS Googlebook: Android phone pairing enables quick file sharing and Play Store access, but setup is convoluted and apps aren't optimized for keyboard and mouse. GooglebookOS feels like an evolved ChromeOS with a renewed Android focus.

• Pairing requires enabling Cross-Device Services and a shared device group
• The Googlebook doesn't always recognize a Pixel on the same Wi-Fi
• Connecting a Sony camera hard-crashed the laptop and forced a reboot
• All five new Googlebooks are similar in price and build; Acer is the only 2-in-1
