NVIDIA Opens Vera Rubin Rack Designs via OCP: Cable-Free, Fanless Compute Trays
NVIDIA has contributed its Vera Rubin platform to the Open Compute Project, with compute trays that have no cables, hoses or fans and use modular liquid cooling. The design adds liquid-cooled busbars rated for 5,000 amps, new MGX Quick Disconnect connectors, and Meta is adopting Spectrum-6, the first 102.4 Tb/s Ethernet ASIC.
- Vera Rubin compute trays have no cables, hoses or fans, cutting assembly to minutes
- Liquid-cooled busbar enables 5,000 amps without enlarging the rack
- Meta adopts Spectrum-6, the first 102.4 Tb/s Ethernet ASIC
- Meta, TACC and Red Panda report up to 2–3.5x gains on Vera CPU
