Toray tests 150°C inverter with heat-resistant film capacitor
Toray Industries has tested an inverter at 150°C using a prototype film capacitor with its proprietary heat-resistant film as the dielectric. Joint research with Nagoya University showed stable operation at high temperature, and thermal simulations suggest the cooling structure could be halved in size.
- Inverter with Toray film capacitor ran stably at 150°C
- Proprietary heat-resistant film serves as the capacitor dielectric
- Thermal simulations show cooling structure could be halved
- Work is done with Professor Masayoshi Yamamoto of Nagoya University
