iPhone 18 Pro costs 28–45% more outside the US due to taxes

The iPhone 18 Pro with 256GB starts at $1,199 in the US before sales tax, but lists at about $1,741 in South Africa (45% higher), $1,710 in India (43%), $1,671 in Nigeria (39%) and $1,540 in Indonesia (28%). VAT, GST and excise duties explain part of the gap, but not all of it.
